Our Cattle
Here at JP Farm and Ranch, we primarily run Black Angus cows that are bred to Hereford bulls to achieve the F1 cross calves. These females produce solid calves that would make excellent replacements or have the pounds come sale time. Currently all of our Hereford bulls are coming from the Carmichael Herefords Ranch in Faith, SD.
The replacements that come from JP Farm and Ranch are products of high maternal Angus cows with great dispositions and pound producing Hereford bulls from the Carmichael Hereford Ranch. The F1 baldy heifers have excellent framework and would make a great addition to the herd.
Calves are fence-lined weaned in the lots shown. Calves are placed on a ration that includes a mineral program, dry hay, silage, corn, and distillers. Heifers are not pushed on feed and the ration is closely monitored for consumption rate. The pens are walked through daily to help with disposition and to monitor health of the cattle.

JP Farm and Ranch has 84 head of home raised F1 cross heifers available that are averaging around 750 pounds. Heifers will be bangs/vaccinated on February 11th and will have pre-breeding shots and poured with Clean-Up. Sires are all Carmichael Hereford bulls from Meadow, SD.
